Current Rescues

"It's so funny how something as simple as a puppy can make even the
hardest, toughened soldier melt upon a few kisses to the face."

Brownie’s Story:
I fell in love with kuchi dogs during my last rotation, after my unit adopted a pair of pups.  Having the two puppies on the camp drastically improved morale for my soldiers.  We ended up bringing both of those pups home, one of which lives with me.  About a month ago, I noticed the long rotation was starting to weigh on my team.  I decided that the best thing I could do for them was bring a puppy onto the camp.  I knew we wouldn't be able to leave a pup here once everyone was attached, but I also wanted a playmate for my kuchi dog.  I contacted Sandy about adopting one from your shelter.  Shortly after that, one of our workers overheard us talking about adopting a pup and brought one onto the camp for us the next day.  She's been great for the team and, as expected, I just can't bring myself to leave her here.
There's not much to the story, but I honestly just love the personality that kuchi dogs have.  They're loyal, brave, and loving and will do anything for their family - without a doubt the most wonderful dogs I've ever had.  Her name is Brownie, by the way.
Currently, Brownie has a case of mites.  We have her on meds and she'll finish her cycle in two weeks.  I don't want her passing these on to any of the other dogs.  We'll send up all her meds and everything with her.  Hopefully you can use them up there.
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.  I'll have friends and family chip in as soon as the site is set up.
